for now it sucks.
I just got a reminder in my inbox (the new gmail inbox, which i havent had a chance to audit yet) from tourb.us that clap your hands say yeah are performing the bowery ballroom next tuesday. I got excited b/c its Jennas birthday on monday and we could go to the concert together as part of the festivities. So I went to the bowery website and to my dismay I was shown this:
What good is tourb.us if the concert is sold out. There has to be a better service out there, that aggregates my listening habits and tells me when the tickets go on sale. I think I have seen a couple of yahoo pipes mashups that do just that I dont know how useful they are Ill have to take a look.
I cant wait for the day when I will be able to provide all my listening habits (last.fm, ipod, hypem, itunes, etc) to a service and they can go ahead and tell me how to see these bands in concert. Why doesnt ticketmaster do this? Why arent the record labels creating apps to find me? How about livenation? What about freaking facebook?
Whoever ends up doing it will help the make the world a better place. I guess its a blessing in disguise that the service is not around just yet b/c as writing this rant, I realized I should be saving my money these days and not going to concerts.
